Ordinary rulers are not effective to measure the true flatness of sharpening stones. Rulers are not really designed for the job and are often flexible, which makes it almost impossible to determine flatness. The Starrett 385 Series Steel Straight Edit with Bevel Edge is precision ground and nicely finished to rigid Starrett standards. It is
